House: Cabot Why bees? Because they're a mystery to me. I've never been stung by a bee and I think they are fascinating because of how "untouchable" they are. And when I say "untouchable", I mean that usually being stung by a bee is not preferred and so people tend to keep their distances, which is exactly what I have done! So I'm really interested in learning about them. | Original Designer: Alistair Debling...made this website in his sleep Concentration: Visual and Environmental Studies House: Adams Why bees? I’m concerned by colony collapse disorder and the tragic effects this phenomenon may have on our consumption of that delicious golden nectar we call honey! I love our pollinating friends and want to be involved in letting them thrive once again. |

Because they are one of the most interesting species to look at from a social standpoint, and I don't remember the last time I was stung by one, so fingers crossed! | Eddy Lee: Social ChairYear: Junior Concentration: Economics with African Studies Secondary House: Adams Why bees? When Bob the beekeeper came to talk to my third grade class, he told me something that I remember to this day: bees work their whole lives to help each other and create something much greater than themselves. By keeping bees, I think I can both do my part in helping the bees thrive in our Harvard community and learn lessons that are (in a very strange way) applicable to my own life. |
Bridget I: Club ScribeYear: Sophomore Concentration: English Dorm: Mather Why bees? They're phenomenally miraculous creatures--thinking about them and helping them build their hives is just one more way of realizing how intricately beautiful the world is. I also simply adore them, as small furry yellow symbols of tenacity and sweetness. | Zaki DjemalYear: Junior Concentration: Social Studies House: Adams Why bees? Beecause they are testament to the whole being greater than the sum of its parts. Beecasue they remind us that we can achieve more by working together than possible within the confines of our individual roles. Beecause black and yellow are the official colors of my home town Jerusalem's soccer team! |
